3. Registered office address
Every Quebec share corporation must declare a registered office address at incorporation. This address is recorded with the Registraire des entreprises du Québec (REQ) and is your corporation’s official address.
Legal requirements
The registered office must:
- Be located in Quebec — required for a corporation formed under Quebec’s Business Corporations Act
- Be able to receive physical mail at all times — government notices, REQ correspondence, tax documents, etc.
- May be your home, apartment, commercial office, or virtual office
This address will be public and visible to anyone searching the enterprise register. If you prefer not to show your home address, consider a commercial or virtual office address.
